A SURVEY
Hello! We are a group of students.
We want to ask you some questions about waste management.
In France we are learning about trash and we would like you to give us information about the USA's waste management in homes.
*What do you do with your trash ?
*Do you throw it all away or do you separate it in different bins ?
*What makes up your tash ?
*Do you have a lot of packaging from your products ?
*Is there a punishemt if you litter ?
*Do you get plasticbags at the supermarket ? ( in france since junary the first 2007 they no longer give out plastic bags)
*How many trash bins do you have at home ?
*Do you have a compost in your garden ?
*Do you have a place to separate or collect different trash to send to recycling center ?
*Are there different recycling centers for glass wood, plastic, paper,and so on ?
*How many times per week do the garbage trucks collect your waste ?
*What do you do used battery, chemical products, electronic machine... ?
*What do the gouvernement, and people do for improving the environement ?
Have you got any ideas about how to lessen trash quantity ?
Do you participate in the safeguard of the planet?
DoDo you make écological actions everyday ?(like walk, switch off the without car light, conserve water...)
Have you got some symbols for somethig you can recycling ?

... so, here is Bruno's interview at his neighbours':
1) Que faites vous de vos déchets ménagers? What do you do with your garbage ?
- Nous les trions grâce aux poubelles (une verte et une jaune) We select them (in the green and yellow collectors)
2) Que deviennent-ils? What becomes of them ?
- Nous savons juste qu'ils sont recyclés. We only kow they are recycled.
3) Lesquels à votre avis sont recyclables? Which do you think CAN be recycled ?
- Nous dirions les plastiques et les verres(bouteilles,pots de yaourt...) We’d say : plastic and glass
4) D'après vous,quels sont les plus polluants pour la nature? Which would you think are the most polluting ?
- Nous pensons que se sont le plastique et le verre. It must be plastic and glass.
5) Pensez-vous contribuer à la sauvegarde de la planète? Do you think you are contributing to the saving of our planet ?
- Oui,nous faisons de notre mieux en triant nos déchets et en les recyclants. Yes, we are doing our best by sellecting and recycling our garbage.
6) D'après vous,sous quel responsabilité la sauvegarde de la planète est-elle? Which do you think IS responsible of our planet’s future ?
- Nous pensons qu'elle est d'abord sous la responsabilité des dirigeants (ils doivent mettre à exécutions des projets pour la sauvegarde de la planète), mais avant tout sur celle de chaque citoyen grâce a ses actions quotidiennes. We think it is first the responsability of our political leaders (they must build up projects to preserve the future of our planet), but even more so it is the responsability of each single citizen thanks to their daily life attitude.
7) Avez-vous des idées pour diminuer la quantité de nos déchets? How do you think WE could reduce the amount of our garbage ?
- On peut boire l'eau du robinet pour éviter d'acheter trop de bouteilles d'eau en plastique, utiliser du composte fabriqué avec les déchets ménagers (épluchures, branches d'arbres...) We can drink water from the tap and therefore use less plastic bottles; we can make and use compost out of our domestic garbage (peelings, wood branches...)
